Art Camp for Women Now in Session! Yippee!

Written by on October 12, 2012 in About Camp, Carla Sonheim, Kelli Nina Perkins with 1 Comment

When you read this we will be right in the middle of Art Camp for Women,
October Session, 2012!

As I write this  there is a monumental stack of art supplies, table embellishments, convenience items etcetera building up in the garage waiting for the final van packing!

Stage 1 - From storage to the upstairs

Stage 1 - From storage to the upstairs

Lorri Flint is double checking quantities and putting the final ingredients onto the grocery list. And I am typing last-minute reminders to the teachers, campers, chef and,  last but not least, us!

Double checking the grocery list.

We are planning on having a giant art-slumber party with Carla Sonheim, Kelli Nina Perkins, our chef, the two of us and around 20 wildly excited women from all over the United States and Canada!

Colliding Ideas-Stamping and Patterns- Keep an Art Journal

Colliding ideas make me happy!

Idea number one: Dye the white muslin cushion covers for my office couch. I am moving my business office to  the half of my studio that looks like a storage unit.

Idea number two: Use my hand-carved  Large Leaf stamp to make a therma-fax screen and then use that on the couch cover.

Idea number three: Test the patterns in my Altered Ledger Journal that my Art Journaling Every Day encourages me to use!

Black patterns on green and white background

Black patterns on green and white background

You have seen my large leaf stamp previously – the stamp I carved after being inspired by a fabric pattern I saw.  I love the Large Leaf stamp so much that I  carved a sister stamp in the shape of a Large Flower.  My office couch has a black wooden frame and currently sports a red cover. But, when I bought the couch it came with an unbleached muslin cover as the standard cover. That cover now lives in a storage crate. How much would I love a small couch with this pattern on the cushions?
