Written by on July 30, 2014 in Art Camp for Women, Art Journaling, Journal Project with 0 Comments

These weekly prompts are not intended to make an entire page but instead are meant to give you a starting point for a daily practice of Art Journaling.

For the next few weeks the images come from testing several new techniques, sprays, inks, stamps, stencils and masks.

If you are participating in these Journal Prompts and want to share a page or two (or more) with us, please email a photo of your page to:

Art Camp Adventures Hut Trek in the Alps Update

holzmeister alm2-1

If you are interested  in our Art Camp Adventure in the Alps this post is for you!

We are taking a break from putting our Shake-Down Trek together and will be trekking in the wilds of North America on the way to a family reunion. What this means for you is that we will be in ‘iffy’ internet spaces and our access will be sporadic and random.  The best contact for the next two weeks will be loriw [AT] artcampforwomen [DOT] com.

In the meantime we have a new post with more specific information  up over at Hut-n-Trek about our Trek Itinerary to the Gosaukamm in the Austrian Alps.

I held off on this post until I could show you some of the previous pages with my doodles added in. Click on the images to see them larger.

I didn’t really follow the prompt from last Wednesday i.e.”write about your day hour-by-hour like Kiefer Southerland in 24.”  This journal is for my daily ideas, to-dos, recounting of the days, etc.  and I often jot in it through out the day.

I was/am still testing out my Tim Holtz Distress Inks and different ways of applying them. Also seeing how they go with other media on a page. Practicing lettering and letter deco too.

ART CAMP ADVENTURE IN THE WORKS!

Ideas need to sit in the cocoon just like the caterpillar before it becomes the butterfly. Seems like nothing is happening and then BANG something new and exciting is there.holzmeister alm2-1

In September Art Camp Adventures will team up with Hut-n-Trek and do the test drive of the Austrian Alps Art Camp Adventure. We can still take one or two intrepid art adventurers along for a mere $1200.00 US. We can accommodate singles or even a couple – and yes your men are welcome too.

More images showing favorite home made stencil/masks. This mask is a magazine cut-out of someone sitting meditation. Originally used with acrylic paints this mask is now flexible, washable AND one of my favorites. Here is a close up:

Messy MeditatorThis page, which I originally thought way, way too messy is now one of my favorites. I love the crazy speckling and odd color combos.

Happy Independence Day Everyone!
Appreciate and revel in your independence today!

Today’s flip side photo from last Wednesday’s shoot shows the stamps ghosting through the page to add another element. The ghost flowers will probably get doodled when I get to this page.
ghost flowersI also added a heart sticker from a friend and tried out another new stamp from a going-out-of-business sale where I bought so much stuff that I haven’t even looked at most of it yet!
